Child safety standards

Last updated 20 October 2026. Jirani has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Our standards

  • Jirani is for adults only (18 and over). Children may not create accounts.
  • Any content, message, listing or behaviour that sexualises, exploits, grooms or endangers a child is forbidden. This includes sharing, asking for or linking to CSAM.
  • Childcare is a checked skill on Jirani: listings show whether we have verified the provider's documents, and parents should always check profiles, ratings and verification before booking.
  • Phone numbers, links and payment details are hidden in chat, which makes it harder to move a conversation to private channels.

How to report a concern

  • In the app: on an order, tap Report a problem.
  • Anytime: email support@lmn.co.ke with the subject "Child safety", or use our contact form. Include the member's name and what happened.
  • If a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 999 or 112, or Childline Kenya on 116 (free, 24 hours).

What we do

  • We review every child safety report as a priority.
  • We immediately remove the content and suspend the accounts involved while we investigate, and permanently ban accounts that break these standards.
  • We preserve the evidence and report CSAE and CSAM to the relevant authorities, including the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Kenya, and cooperate fully with law enforcement.

Compliance

We comply with Kenyan law on child protection, including the Children Act, 2022 and the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, 2018, and with the child safety policies of the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
