Your account
Delete your Jirani account.
You can delete your account yourself in the app, or ask us to do it for you here. Either way, this is what happens to your data.
In the app
- Open Jirani and sign in.
- Tap Me (bottom right).
- Scroll down and tap Delete my account.
- Confirm (with your password, if your account has one).
Before you can delete it, finish or cancel any active orders and withdraw any money in your Jirani balance.
What we delete
- Your name (replaced with "Former member"), phone number, email, password and Google sign-in link.
- Your profile photo, your bio, and the photos you sent for skill verification (your ID and proof of your work).
- Your saved alerts, your listings and open requests (taken down and no longer shown).
- Your sign-ins on every device and your phone notification tokens.
What we keep, and why
- Orders, payments and the money ledger, without your name or contacts: the other person in each order still needs its record, and Kenyan law requires us to keep financial records for a number of years.
- Reviews you wrote stay on the provider's profile, shown as "Former member".
- Chat messages stay visible to the other person in the chat.
